Toy Story

The Suspicious Place

It was the year 1984 when the Dawsons family moved in. They lived in a neighbourhood near the skull island.

They found the neighbourhood very suspicious. They knew something was  wrong. Every night a person goes missing or a family goes missing. The family went out for a walk to other side of the neighbourhood to gather food and shelter for the incoming storm.

They took their boats and sailed to the nearest island and finally they build shelter and had the right amount of food to survive. At night they hear screams coming from the caves. They went to check it. As they pass by they see a stairs leading into a small cave. They walk slowly down the stairs, the screams was getting louder and louder. Finally they had reached the end. People were chained up. They found the keys for the chains and set them free. They shouted run away. A man with a shotgun tried to shoot them. They grabbed a knife and threw it right threw his heart. They sneaked out of the cave and rushed into their boat and sailed around the seven seas and into Hawaii where they had a party.

And they lived happily ever after. The End

Camp Bentzon

“Bags on buses’” yelled Mr Burt. I grab my bag and rushed to a bus. I had to put pressure on my hands as I was pushing my bags in a small area.

I sped into the hall, huffing and puffing making it harder and harder to breath.
We did a karakia and then we sprinted onto the bus. We waved to our guardians and then finally the bus started moving. We started singing and we started talking. The bus took hours and hours to go to sandspit, north of auckland.

Finally we’re at Sandspit. I grabbed my bag and dragged it onto the ferry. I watched the sea go past as others talked and blabbed about the upcoming camp.

“wroommmmm” goes the boat as it parks into the camp Bentzon Wharf. Peter and Erin runs to see the us do our haka then we carefully walk outside of the Ferry and wait for someone to give you random bags to carry to the camp. I grabbed a bag and carried it to the camp and sat down waiting for all the bags to be at the camp.

After that we had a tiring walk ( more like a hike) up the mountain and then down to the other side of the mountain after that we walked up the mountain and then down again.

1st day of camp was the tiring day ever.
Camp was cool.

Quickly he rushed to the free runner park where the competition setted. He practised and practised and practise for hours. Finally it was the day he had lots of water and ate a nice healthy breakfast. He rushed to the park, just in time for his turn he did his easy stunts and then a another stunt.  A boy named Luis cheated and put his leg in front making sonny fall onto the ground with a long cut on his leg.

The ambulance rushed into action took him to the hospital. Sonny had a serious hurt and took him weeks and weeks to recover. The competition was cancelled and luis felt guilty and visited Sonny after two weeks of the accident. He apologised and gave him a chocolate bar.

The next year sonny won the competition and Luis won the competition the next year. Luis and Sonny became best friends and they had the coolest times ever.

Gold Stone Bush

One rainy day, there was an adventurous girl who loved to go on adventures. She lived in a small cottage near a steep hill. Her name was Angelica.

Angelica and her family were poor and had ate all the crops they grew on the side of their house. Angelica's mother Katherine was going nuts with no food so she send Angelica to go to Gold Stone Bush. That was the only way to a village called Peleca. Legend say that Gold Stone Bush was a dangerous place to go. Who ever travelled through Gold Stone Bush never came back. She ran quickly down the hill and through the rusty Bridge and finally at Gold Stone Bush. She passed the trees and into another bridge. This bridge had holes in it and missing pieces of wood. She couldn’t cross the bridge. She screamed and said, “ How am I going to cross the bridge !.”

She thought and thought and still nothing. She saw a man with a horse. They were riding near her and she asked him how to cross the bridge and he said, “ the light that shines is the way to Peleca.” and he vanished, fading through the air. She walked on the side of the bush and saw three bridges that lighted up like a firefly. She knew one could lead her to Peleca. She threw two stones on each bridge two fell one stood tall. She turned back and a raccoon chased her across the bridge and into a steep hill that lead her to Peleca. She asked the people for food and they gave six bread, seventeen fish and a bag full of crops to grow. She ran back home but it was too late her dad had starved to death. She gave mum the food and cried through the night.

Angelica became first to cross Gold Stone Bush and the man was never seen again. They lived happily ever after.

In the beach they met a couple and the people on the beach and they had a very good time meeting the couple but the hostile guards captured them. The couple howled, “ We want to adopt Johnson and Jack.” Quickly the guards stopped and gave them the adoption paper and they signed the paper.

Paralympics Activities

During Monday afternoon room 15 were playing some activities.

We ran across the court and back. We ran fast. After that Mr Marks told us to get a tight band to tie around ourselves to have an amputated arm. It was very tricky and difficult. Then we had to get a softball ball from Mr Marks to throw over the field but we had to throw it with amputated left arm. Lucky I didn't throw it at somebody. I ask myself, “ Where should I throw it !.”

I had a awesome day. I Hope we do it again

Our Nadia Commanici Movie

This is a movie my friend Lukis, Francis and I made.

Enjoy!

My Saturday

During Saturday night I went to play volleyball. My church and another church teamed up to play volleyball. I didn’t play volleyball. I played Basketball. I had to shoot the ball into a  high hoop. It was fun. I watched my friend getting all of the balls and shooting at the hoop. It was so annoying because he was getting all in. We started at 6:00 pm and finished at 10:00pm.

I enjoyed my weekend. It was fun.

Uniforms To School

I don’t like to wear school uniforms because it takes lots of responsibility. It makes me feel so ireful.

I hate going through all weekday morning putting my uniforms on instead of wearing any random clothes in the cupboards. Also uniforms wastes our mothers and fathers money and time paying for uniforms and washing the uniforms. I know uniforms identifies my school but still don’t like uniforms.

My opinion to parents is very simple. Stop wasting money and time on uniforms!

Inspire A Generation

My poster is about the London Olympics 2012. My sports that were featured and designed on my poster was basketball. First I sketched my artwork in  a practice A3 paper and then I outlined it with the vivids. After that we used the dye. The Dye looked watery and it looked like water or food colouring. I enjoyed making my poster it was fun.

A dirty Mess

It was a nice day for a good game of soccer. Happily I jogged my way to the reserve with others.

Everyone is getting ready and warming up for a game. Mr Harris comes and yells us to come in circle. He says, “ We’re have a quick game of soccer and remember mark up and break free.” Everyone goes into teams of 6 or 7. First we put ourselves into our position then got ready to play.

Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh goes the whistle, the other team kicked off. One by one every one slips destroying the grass. I tried not to slip and tried not to get dirty. Quickly running towards the others teams goal. Lee was trying to control the ball while he was passing it to me.
I tried to pass the ball to Lee but he was marked I was trapped so I ran towards the goal but the other team stole the ball off me. Ten minutes later Mr Harris blew the whistle again To finish the game.

I had a good time. It was awesome.

Sizzling Bacon

On a sunny morning, Room 15 had sausage sizzles. We decided to write about them. It was an amazing moment.

First we all chopped an onion each. Most of us cried.  I chopped my onions too big, I stopped and then I went back doing our work. I watched some kids crying. It was fun.

Next Mr Marks used the onions and sausages to be grilled. I patiently watched it. It looked nice and delicious. Then it was finally cooked and ready to be eaten.

It tasted delicious and scrumptious and it was leading crumbs everywhere.  I needed a hot nice sausage. It was delightful.

I enjoyed my day. It was fun.

Running A Marathon

Cross Country is good for your body and health. It’s  also tiring.

Cross Country for me is like running a 42km marathon. Also like a monster in the closet and like geting on detention by our Mr Burt. I really dislike cross country but as I run I know i'm getting fitter and fitter to run the 42km marathon and to face the monster in the closet and also not getting on detention by Mr Burt.

Most times I think Cross Country is like bees and wasps trying to sting me and like sharks going violent but I know my body wants it. Yes I get tired going past Mr Somerville and back to Ms King but I know its building me up to a better and stronger boy. As I go past Miss King she yells, “ faster Henry faster Or else you're running again tomorrow lunchtime !.” Sometimes I wonder shouldrun as fast as my small slow legs go, letting the engine of my body speed up and sometimes I just keep jogging or walking and then end up coming last again to run again back to Miss King and back.

Past Mr Somerville and back to Mrs King and then back to Mrs Garden I go. Some times I could hear huff and puffs as I run. I try to talk to anyone but no one talks back.

I love running sometimes. It makes me fit.

Rugby League Tornament

On Tuesday the over and under 45 kg went to a rugby tournament  at Dunkirk Rd. We happily jogged our way to Mt Wellington Reserve.

There were six games. The rules were very simple. One rule was in one game it is only twenty minutes including no half times. Another rule was no kicks only for the beginnings.

I played but not very well. The Unders played very well using all the training tips we used. Waet got injured by tackling a big boy. I think he is brave and a great rugby league player so as shayne.

I loved playing rugby. It is fun.

Claude Monet

Claude Monet was a  french impressionist painter who enjoyed painting the same subject. A Landscape or Cityscape in different times of day or season. Impressionist painters like to paint different times of day or year because to capture the light and movement in time.

Monet created his beautiful water garden at home in giverny and used it as his subject over and over again. He liked the way the water was constantly changing and moving.

The famous paintings of the japanese bridge show an arched bridge crossing a pond. The pond is surrounded with trees and shrubs. The  pond also changes colour throughout the day.

Friday 1 June 2012

Robert Delaunay

This is y first attempt at creating a piece  of art in the style of Robert Delaunay.
Robert Delaunay was a french painter. He and his wife Sonia invented the orphism art form. He uses vibrant colors and geometric shapes. He is also a writer and a poem.

He like  to use  vibrant colors that brought his art alive. He also uses Contrasting Colours that opposes each other.

In the left side corner he painted a plant. He uses different colors for the leaves to create a contrast. In the middle he created circles for the kitchen and the lady at work.

Swimming

We happily jumped our way to the YMCA Swimming Pool. We went to have swimming lessons.

First We had to test how good we could swim. After that we were split into 3 groups. Each group had 1 amazing instructor. My instructor was Ben. My group was group 1. Group 1 is the lowest group.

Our first lessons was with the flutter board. We had to swim to the other side and swim back to the slippery side where the huge line was. I was so impatient I bobbed down to the water and try make a championship breathing competition with my friends.

Finally we went out of the warm pool and had a rinse before we get changed into our dry, warm and clean uniforms. After that we jogged back to school.

Immersion Assembly 2012

Term 2 had started and I’m very excited to come back to school. The school had an “Immersion Assembly”. Immersion Assembly is a “Welcome Back” thing and when teachers tell us what we are going to learn about.

The theme of this term is “Art Alive”. Mona Lisa is one of an “Art Alive” paintings. She is very amazing. Mona Lisa is a famous painting. She is so priceless that not even the richest person can buy her. Mona Lisa is kept in a safe room. She has a bullet proof glass around her so that no one can steal or destroy her.

I think art alive is very cool. I also think i’m going to have a good term.

Kayaking

I went kayaking at camp. It was fun.

I went on a kayak and tried to paddle. I was given some instructions. I paddled left then right. I got use of paddling and was given a partner to paddle with. I paddled left and the wind blew the kayak and made me fall to the water. It was pretty deep but lucky I had a lifejacket.

I enjoyed the day with a swim and ended back at camp.  I love kayaking.

Sleeping In A Tent

I had 2 sleeping mates. They were Shalom and Vaifoa. I woke up all night because I couldn’t sleep. The light from the serving tent was so bright. Shalom slept when I woke. I didn’t enjoy sleeping in the tent with the light on.

Roller Blading

I went on a roller blade I really enjoyed it. I sometime got bruised and bashed. I saw Frankie skating fast in the breeze. I love to get bruised and bash. After my turn I gave the roller blade to the girls. I had lots of fun.

Samoa

My culture is Samoa. Samoa is very important to me.

As a Samoan we respect other people and treat them like a brothers and sisters. We should keep in our hearts that we are all brothers and sisters. Most Samoan people go church to pray for forgiveness and a better future.

My culture love dancing and singing. We do not do hip hop or the hula. We have our own kind of songs and dance. We have a dance called the sasa.

I’m proud to be a Samoan. I love myself.

Camp Cooking

Whaea Raywen was cooking damper with the the Dream Team boys. We were making Damper and marshmallows with cookies.

Before we started cooking we had to talk about fire safety. After that we had to get the bamboo stick to put the damper on top of the bamboo stick. We had to put it in the fire and wait patiently until it was ready. We were rotating the damper so that the  damper would cook on every side. When mine was ready I gave it to Whaea Raywen. It was delicious .

I can’t  wait for next years camp.

Wednesday 14 March 2012

1st Day Of Camp

It is the first day of camp and its is fun today.  I love today.

My favourite time of the day was kayaking. I couldn't paddle the kayak and it was scared about doing it.  I started to get use of it and paddled in a long oval.

Shalom and I was in doubles. We accidentally turned to the left together hardly while we were paddling. I went of the boat and spam to surface. After that Rayline fell down the kayak and thought she was going to die. I grabbed her and took her to surface.

I enjoyed my day. I wonder what we are doing tomorrow.

Tuesday 13 March 2012

School Camp

We have camp on Wednesday.I am looking forward to kayaking because I never go kayaking. I am also looking forward to swimming at Swimorama Pools because that is a swimming pool I never been to. I just can’t wait.

I am not looking forward to performing in-front of  all the kids and teachers. Now that freaks me most because I have the nerves. What also freaks me out is  jump jam because  I am totally not fit enough to do that but its best to give it a try but I will some day be good at it.

Wednesday 7 March 2012

Blindfold Obstacle Course

Mr Marks set up a surprise for us for writing. There was good news and bad news. The good news was that it was a obstacle  course in the hall and the bad news was that we had to do the obstacles course blindfolded.

We had to get a partner. I got T.J as my partner. I was first to be blindfolded and first out of the boys. T.J guided me to finish the obstacle course. The game needed a guider and a person blindfolded. First of all I walked across the platforms then walked across the ropes, over the two cylinder ball, zigzag across the cones , under the tarpaulin, walked through the cushions and jumped down on top of the stage to the soft big cushion. I slipped on the cushions and accidentally fell down the soft big cushions. I watched Tame and laughed how he slipped in the gap of the soft big cushions. I helped T.J cross the obstacle course . I helped him well by holding him and go through the obstacle course.  I found it very easy and fun.

I enjoyed the blindfold obstacle course. I also enjoyed slipping off. I love playing blindfold games.
